On the Shore

On the Shore

It does not take time to feel distant

Like the moon with a reflection,

Closeness is just a word then—

Nostalgia surrounds me like a madman.

The hope is there but it is useless,

Nothing is perpetual yet everything is there.

I come to you with my heart open—

You are terrified as if it’s a wound broken.

I retreat seeing you cower—

Questioning; is this what I desired?

So, I am living memories,

While looking for them in your eyes.

Alas, I am digging my grave alone —

A lost empty bottle on the shore.

I set you free, for you are not to be caged

I loosen my grip so you can run away.

Go, as far as you can get,

But these memories, I will never forget.

I am a breeze, a cold one.
